As a former Ortho nurse, I can honestly say I am truly less than impressed with the care I have received here. The front desk staff is professional and making an appointment is an easy process. My first visit with Jessica Temple went well, and I felt She listened and performed examinations and ordered appropriate tests. I then saw Dr. Kruger to review Imaging, EMG, who had to ask if this was the first time he was seeing me. The EMG I was told was fine without being shown or any explanation. After some technical difficulties viewing one of the MRI I was told Idk what’s causing your issue . Do you want to live like this or see a hand suegeon. No explanation as to what was found on the thoracic MRI and why the several herniations shown would or would not contribute to the problem in my hand. I’m not sure he even looked at the Cervical MRI. I understand maybe it was not a surgical problem, but I was also offered nothing in way of conservation treatment such as seeing a physiatrist for injections to manage the pain caused by the 7 herniations that showed up on the report. Fast forward to being referred Dr. Berkowitz who I could already had his mind made up before he walked into the room, by the line of questioning I received. I was told that the abnormal positioning of my hand was normal (which is weird because my other hand isn’t positioned like that nor was this one prior to the injury) and he had nothing to offer for the stiffness, cramping swelling, or weakness I have been experiencing in my hand. I had an x-ray taken and no physical examination was performed to determine why I would have significant weakness / swelling in my hand. I asked to be referred to a Thoracic Outlet Specialists to rule out and address specific symptoms and was told “ I don’t believe in that diagnoses” . It’s okay to not have an answer, but it is delaying care by not referring me to someone who may have an answer because you don’t personally believe that a diagnoses exists. I was sent away without any advice on reduction of swelling or even the offering of physical therapy to address my hand symptoms. I was also not offered any blood work to rule out inflammatory conditions that could possibly be causing swelling/ cramping in hand. Super disappointment in my experience with the providers in this office .

Appointment was set for next day on the phone. Next day the computer system calls confirm it two days after the date that I set. I worked my schedule to accommodate this even though was caught off guard. I arrived 30 min early to my appt and waited patiently, waited 45 minutes AFTER my appointment t time many people come in and get called before me. I ask the receptionist if I am almost up as I’m 45 minutes behind our appt time. She says I’m next up and laughs it off with the others. Three more people come in and get called to a room in front of me before I asked for my copay back. No , explanation, going to check on rooms or compassion for my injury or 75 minutes of time I wasted sitting there just refunded. It’s clear these people do no respect others time and overbook with no warning to the customer.
